MAKE WAY FOR

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

Just a few months left until the seasons adjust once again, so here are some (extra emphasis on some) of my essentials for this upcoming Spring! Starting with..

We've got the usual pastels and neutrals for spring, of course, to go with our vivid and fresh outfit choices. Some of my favorite colors for this season include sky blue, violet, pastel pinks, and even pistachio. You can even go beyond just the simple colors and add decorations like cute tiny daisies or flower petals. Speaking of daisies, it's time to talk about my personal favorite spring scent. Next topic:

Although perfume isn't necessarily an accessory, it's something I never leave the house without. Daisy by Marc Jacobs is one of the best scents for spring, as it's such a light, sweet, and 'floral' smell. Now some things that are accessories- rings and necklaces! I recently found a ton of my old necklaces a few weeks ago, and I have never been happier (maybe I have). My number one necklace from the bunch is the one above with a silver elephant; very simple, yet makes simple outfits 10x better. Also, rings- I don't wear rings that often, but as you can see I'm not much into the massive statement rings. I'd much rather prefer simple and small ones with interesting designs, which can give me a reason to wear multiple rings at once.
And finally,

Stripes, dots, and mesh- a need! The first clothing item is a long sleeve, but it's a thin long sleeve. Long sleeves for spring can be paired with skirts or shorts and accessorized with fun hats and shoes. The second clothing item is a black and white polka dot dress (better view of print here). I see absolutely nothing wrong with black dresses for spring, and this particular dress to me lies a bit on the spring side because of the little white dots added all over. Third item is a simple peter pan collared shirt, which can be worn with almost any sort of bottom- skirt, jeans, trousers, shorts, etc. etc. The last item is a monochrome mesh jumpsuit, my absolute favorite type of clothing item.. next to jeans. Jumpsuits are lifesavers, simply because it's a top, and a bottom, alllll in one. All that's left to add are accessories, sandals or heels, and the occasional floppy hat that can never be forgotten during spring time.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading a bit about what's important to me for the floral season, and if you've got any questions/comments about the products, leave them below! See you soon spring.. xx

MEET THE BOYFRIEND

Monday, January 20, 2014

Many would say I've been a bit too lazy to dress up these past few weeks, but I just say I'm a bit too comfortable to walk away from boyfriend jeans and tees. Although it's "winter" on this side of the world, we all know it really isn't in California. Taking the advantage of the weather, I paired up a tee and jeans for a day out shopping. I gotta say, on the contrary to my past opinions about S/S weather wise, this year, I am so excited for them to arrive (I've already started shopping for both seasons!) I guess I just have a feeling that 2014 overall will be an amazing year, no matter what season. Anyways, I leave you all a photo of what I wore yesterday.
Wearing- Tee: Zara | Jeans: Aeropostale | Boots: Topshop | Crossbody: Chanel

ALSO! Here's a bit of winter in Southern California for ya, taken from a short video clip from yesterday as well. Happy Birthday MLK, and I hope everyone had a wonderful 3 day weekend! Xxx
